first_imgWe are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a collaborative projectin the Center for Translational Research in NeurodegenerativeDisease (CTRND) at the University of Florida College of Medicine.The project is supported by the Douglas Andersen Facial PainResearch Foundation. The position will focus on developing andcharacterization of rAAV vectors that can be delivered to thetrigeminal nerve and blunt/block pain signaling. Optimization ofperipheral nerve, trigeminal nerve rAAV delivery coupled with anability to evaluate a large number of possible biotherapeuticsencoded within the rAAV vector will enable the development of agene therapy that could result in a permanent cure for trigeminalneuralgia.Successful applicant will have an access to i) a variety of animalmodels, ii) state-of-the-art imaging; iii) rAAV based toolkit tomanipulate gene expression and deliver novel biotherapeutics.Required: Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or other relevantfields.Preferred Qualifications: A background in pain research, animalmodels of pain, surgical procedures in mice and rats and be willingto work in a highly collaborative environment.
