Wireless SNES controller improves on an already perfect gamepad

first_imgThough there have been many heated arguments over which video game controller is the greatest of all time, it would be difficult to find someone who doesn’t agree that the Super Nintendo controller isn’t among the very best in history. Its rounded edges, button layout, size, weight, and overall design serves as the basis for most of the controllers we use today. The SNES controller is all but perfect, but now it is about to become even better thanks to a new wireless edition.Analogue and 8Bitdo have teamed up once again to bring us the wireless SNES controller. If you recall, they are the ones responsible for the wireless Nintendo controller we told you about back in April. Like with the previous controller, the wireless SNES controller uses a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into original Super Nintendo or Super Famicom consoles. The adapter is also compatible with other systems that have a SNES/SFC port as well as other controllers or arcade sticks from 8Bitdo. The SNES controller shares the same special features of the wireless NES controller. This includes additional buttons mapped to turbo, compatibility with two-to-four Retro Receivers for multiplayer games, and compatibility with Mac, PC, iOS, Android, and current-gen systems. It even has output support, enabling the Retro Receiver to be used as a Bluetooth dongle. The SNES wireless controller can be purchased for $24.99 from Play-Asia. Definitely a great price for those who still play their Super Nintendo regularly and want to lessen the chance of destroying their precious console by accidentally tripping on its wire. <>last_img read more
