first_imgBuddy is in good form after falling in behind DMRT member Norman Millar from St Johnston. The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team’s search dog Buddy has been found safe and well. The valuable black and white collie dog, which has assisted in many rescue missions, went missing yesterday near Muff.Buddy was out walking with handler Pete Brow when he strayed off on Iskaheen Mountain. Despite an extensive search of the area yesterday, no sign of Buddy was found and members feared the worst.A team from the Donegal Mountain Rescue unit began a search for Buddy at first light this morning.Buddy, who is a highly-trained SARDA dog, was wearing a hi viz jacket and a number of dog tags. And just after 10am Buddy trailed in behind searchers including Norman Millar as they combed Iskaheen Mountain. DMRT spokesman Joseph Brennan said the team were delighted to have found Buddy alive and well.“It’s a great relief. Buddy plays a huge part in our many search and rescue missions and we would have bee lost without him.“It’s great to have him back safe and well. He’s in great form but we were worried.“He simply trailed in behind a couple of members who had been out since first light around Iskaheen Mountain looking for him,” he said. SAFE AND WELL!
