first_imgJanuary 22, 2020 /Sports News – Local Weber State Men’s Basketball Hosts Montana State Thursday FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailOGDEN, Utah-Thursday, Weber State men’s basketball (6-12, 2-5 in Big Sky Conference play) hosts Montana State (9-9, 3-4 in Big Sky play) as the conference season ensues for the Wildcats and Bobcats at the Dee Events Center.In his 14th season at the helm of Weber State’s program, Randy Rahe (272-165, .622) remains the winning-est coach in program history notwithstanding this difficult season.The Wildcats score 71.6 points per game, ranking Weber State 176th nationally in scoring offense.Preseason Big Sky Conference player of the year, senior guard Jerrick Harding (20.7 points per game) is the Wildcats’ leading scorer.Fellow senior guard Cody John (14.1 points per game) is the only other Weber State student-athlete to score in double figures on-average.Junior forward, Czech national Michal Kozak leads the Wildcats in rebounding (5.5 boards per game) and blocked shots (25).Freshman guard KJ Cunningham leads Weber State with 37 assists and fellow freshman back-court mate Judah Jordan paces the Wildcats with 22 steals.Weber State surrenders 69.3 points per game as the Wildcats rank 192nd nationally in scoring defense.The Bobcats are coached by first-year head coach Danny Sprinkle (9-9, .500) who played at Montana State from 1995-1999.The Bobcats score 67.4 points per game as Montana State ranks 277th nationally in scoring offense.Norwegian national, senior guard Harald Frey, leads the Bobcats in scoring (17.4 points per game), assists (90) and steals (31).Englishmen, sophomore forward Jubrile Belo (11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds per game, a team-best 15 blocked shots) and junior guard Amin Adamu (11.6 points, 5.2 rebounds per game) also score in double figures on-average for the Bobcats.Junior forward Devin Kirby (6 rebounds per game) leads Montana State on the glass.The Bobcats surrender 66.3 points per game, ranking Montana State 108th nationally in scoring defense.The Wildcats lead the all-time series against the Bobcats 85-36, including a 52-7 mark at Ogden.
