Over 112,000 bags of donated stock were handed in this year.The bi-annual campaign ran from 5 to 25 April 2010 and encouraged people to bring good quality unwanted clothing and homeware to their local TK Maxx or HomeSense shop. In the month before, free donation bags had been made available to customers to take home with them.The donated stock will be sold in Cancer Research UK stores across the country to raise funds for the Together for Kids Fund, the company’s fund with Cancer Research UK that is dedicated to researching children’s cancers.The campaign was promoted by print, online and outdoor advertising featuring models who had ‘given up their clothes for good’. Celebrities including Jade Jagger, Bruno Tonioli, Liz McLarnon, Sol Campbell and Christopher Biggins also demonstrated their support for the cause in the same way.Simon Ledsham, trading director at Cancer Research UK, said: “We have enjoyed a hugely successful partnership with TK Maxx, raising a total of £9.5 million since our partnership first began in 2004, and it just continues to go from strength to strength.
